Participant Call – “Green Up Development” Project, Second Training Course on Sustainable Development, June 23 – July 1, 2024
Are you passionate about protecting the environment and creating positive change in your community? Are you between the ages of 18-30, eager to learn and ready to take action? Do you want to gain new skills in Sustainable Development?
We invite you to join our new sustainability project! Through a series of engaging training courses, we aim to empower young leaders like you to become advocates for environmental initiatives in your local communities and amplify this knowledge among your peers.
We are looking for three young participants to join the first Training Course on Sustainable Development, which will take place in Ankara, Turkey, from June 23 to July 1, 2024 (including travel days).
Training Course Overview:
Our project focuses on raising awareness about critical environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, recycling, and sustainable development. Over a 7-day training, trainers will provide participants with tools, methods, and best practices for sustainable consumption, production, and income generation. Topics will include Sustainable Development Goals, circular economy, composting, and green cleaning products. The group will visit a wildlife collective to observe a good practice closely and produce their own products (e.g., noodles, jams, molasses, etc.).
Objectives:
- Improve understanding of key competencies in sustainable development.
- Promote critical thinking on environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.
- Equip participants with tools and methods for effective environmental action.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperation among participants to support community-based initiatives.
- Inspire continuous learning and advocacy in sustainable practices.
- Inspire participants to advocate for sustainable living and environmental management in their communities.

How to Participate:
If you’re ready to join the Training Course, simply fill out our online application form. Make sure to convince us with your interests, experiences, and motivations for joining the project. To ensure transparency, the selection team, which includes project team members and young volunteers, will follow a set of predefined criteria and invite the most successful applicants to second-round interviews. After this stage, the selection team will identify the top three candidates and notify them, creating a waiting list. So, keep an eye on your inbox!
Important Information:
- Participants are expected to fully engage in the training course and related activities, such as project proposal writing and other national training courses.
- Participants will be tasked with carrying out a series of dissemination activities in their local communities, involving other members (young or older neighbors, friends, relatives) and other stakeholders. Each participant acting as a “disseminator” will receive a small yet sufficient grant to support the logistical and administrative costs of their activities.
- After selection, each candidate will sign a Grant Agreement to ensure full participation and commitment to mutual obligations and respect. This agreement ensures equal learning opportunities for everyone, reflecting the time, effort, and budget invested, but it also entails reasonable obligations for each participant.
- The course program will be conducted in English. You do not need to prove advanced English proficiency, but basic communication skills are essential. This will not be used in the evaluation of your application, but please be honest and avoid using AI-generated responses.
