Project Objectıve
The main objective of the ISports project is to develop a holistic approach to protect young athletes from all forms of sexual harassment. In 4 EU Member States (Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Ireland) and Turkey, the project aims to raise awareness of sports professionals, young athletes and sports clubs on how to detect, prevent and combat sexual harassment through case studies, policy recommendations and training programs.
Project Actıvıtıes:
- Address gaps in policy and service delivery within sports clubs with a focus on detecting, reporting and preventing sexual harassment as part of a holistic approach to protecting young athletes.
Support capacity building of sport professionals, athletes and parents on the risks and rights, as well as the detection, management and prevention of sexual harassment.
Put in place a sustainable and transferable mechanism to support young athletes
To increase the awareness of sports professionals, athletes, parents, sports associations and society on the detection, reporting and prevention of sexual harassment.
Contribute to sport-specific policy-making
It consists of a series of questions and statements on sexual harassment created by experts to understand the learner’s knowledge on the subject. It is a pre-test.
The module consists of 5 lessons. It covers understanding sexual harassment in sport, definition, types of harassment, gender stereotypes in sport and where and how harassment can occur.
The module consists of 5 lessons. It covers global initiatives on sexual harassment in sport, policy recommendations on sexual harassment in sport, Roles and Responsibilities of Sports Clubs, Roles and Responsibilities of Federations, Boundaries.
The module consists of 5 lessons. It covers content on Victim Actions, Witnessing Sexual Harassment, Federation Actions, Legal Actions, Complaint Mechanisms.
The module consists of 5 lessons. It covers content on Investigation Process, General Data Protection Regulation and Sports, Privacy Issues, Human Rights, Corrective Actions.
The module consists of 5 lessons. It covers the contents of Case Studies in Team Sports, References in Team Sports, Case Studies in Individual Sports, References in Individual Sports.
