Within the scope of the Green Up Development (G.U.D.) Project, our initiative titled “Organic Cycle Movement”, implemented by our 3rd local group, has been successfully completed with the support of Safranbolu Municipality.

On the first day of the two-day event, at the Thursday Market designated by Safranbolu Municipality, our youth workers conducted informative activities with market tradespeople as part of awareness-raising efforts. They provided guidance on organic fertilizer use and Bokashi composting, collected organic waste, and distributed brochures to the tradespeople.

The second day of the event took place at the Yazıköy Application and Production Center of the Safranbolu Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate. During this training, attended by Mayor @mimarelifkose, our youth workers taught composting methods to local participants and facility staff, with a focus on Bokashi and hot compost applications. The organic fertilizers produced will be utilized at the facility in the future.

Pınar Alazoğlu Uslu, Agricultural Engineer and Head of the Yazıköy Application and Training Unit at Safranbolu Municipality’s Parks and Gardens Directorate, highlighted the compost initiatives previously launched under the leadership of Mayor Architect Elif Köse. She emphasized that these initiatives allow organic waste to be transformed and reused, resulting in significant savings for the municipality. She also noted the importance of such trainings in raising environmental awareness and promoting a culture of organic transformation. Stressing the significance of continuing these and similar practices, she confirmed that the municipality plans to keep using these methods in the future.

The main goal of our project is not only to raise awareness but also to contribute to creating a lasting and sustainable organic cycle culture, strengthened through collaboration with the municipality and the active involvement of our youth workers.
